About Founder
Dr Sundeep Jain started his medical career in 1989, when he joined medical school in India. He is extensively qualified & trained with M.S. (Masters in Surgery), M.Ch. (highest degree in India in GI surgery), prestigious MRCS (Edinburgh) and an honorary fellowship in the HPB / LT surgery from King’s college hospital, London, UK. He is a well qualified and accomplished surgeon in the field of Gastrointestinal Surgery, which includes all kinds of GI cancer, Liver & Pancreatic, Bariatric and minimal invasive surgery, with a keen interest in the postoperative / intensive care of patients in his unit. Additionally, he has a significant involvement in academics, clinical research with more than 25 publications (both papers in journals & book chapters) and numerous faculty and paper presentations in National & International conferences. He keeps updating his knowledge and skills by attending conferences and workshops.
In last 11 years (since 2006), he has been practicing in the city of Jaipur (Rajasthan), India. In this short time, he has effectively treated more than 5000 operations, covering the whole spectrum of diseases including cancers, obesity and other benign conditions (with both open and minimal access approaches), with best possible postoperative results as per the medical literature. To mention some of his experience- More than 225 liver resections for various malignant & benign conditions including cancer gallbladder, cholangio carcinoma, HCC, liver secondaries & trauma etc., Liver resections for hepato-biliary malignancies with hepatic artery & portal vein resection and reconstruction, Hepato-Pancreatico-Duodenectomy, Laparoscopic monosegmentectomies, Liver resections using Glissonian approach, more than 250 Pancreatico-duodenectomies for periampullary cancers, chronic pancreatitis & trauma, Total laparoscopic Pancreatico-duodenectomies, Whipple’s procedure with arterial & venous resections & reconstructions including portal vein (both sleeve & segmental resection), common hepatic artery & accessory right hepatic artery resection and reconstruction, Whipple’s PD with SMA first approach, Laparoscopic distal pancreatectomies, Laparoscopic cysto-gastrostomy, cysto-jejunostomies, Frey’s procedure, LPJ, distal pancreatectomies for chronic pancreatitis, Pancreatic necrosectomies, Biliary reconstruction for benign biliary stricture after laparoscopic cholecystectomy including patients with atrophy-hypertrophy complex & hepatic artery pseudoaneurysm, Laparoscopic / open choledochal cyst excision with HJ, Proximal spleno-renal shunt for non cirrhotic PHT, Meso-atrial shunt for acute BCS with combined HVs & long segment IVC block, Porto-caval shunt for acute BCS, Enbloc IVC tumor resection with infra-renal IVC segment of 8 cms with IVC reconstruction by 13 mm diameter PTFE ringed graft for secretory paraganglioma, Celiac artery , splenic artery & SMA aneurysm resections with reconstruction, Transthoracic retroperitoneal aorto-byfemoral bypass for suprarenal aortic blocks (along with Cardiac surgeons), Post traumatic IVC & aortic injury repairs, Laparoscopic Fundoplications & Heller’s myotomy, more than 175 cases of Laparoscopic bariatric surgery- sleeve gastrectomies, Roux-en-y gastric bypass & mini gastric bypass, Single incision laparoscopic surgeries for cholecystectomies, appendectomies, CBD stones, hiatus hernias (fundoplication), splenectomy, Thoraco- Laparoscopic esophagectomies for cancer esophagus, Laparoscopic adrenalectomies, Total proctocolectomy with IPAA for UC & FAP (open / Lap), Laparoscopic low & ultralow anterior resections for cancer rectum, Cytoreductive surgery (CRS) with HIPAC plus for cancer Rectum with peritoneal metastases and peudomyxoma peritonei, Colon transposition for corrosive injury esophagus, Pelvic exenterations for advanced pelvic tumors (cancer rectum & GIST rectum), more than 250 cases of Surgery for post-operative complications (re-operative surgeries), more than 1000 Laparoscopic cholecystectomies , more than 250 Laparoscopic hernia surgeries (ventral / inguinal / internal).
There have been many achievements to his credit including the recent Rajasthan Gaurav Award 2022, Doctor’s Day Award for the excellence in the field of GI surgery and research, 2017 by Rajasthan Medical Council, Election as the Member of Royal college of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd), Best clinical support in FOS (Fortis Operating System), 2017, Fortis Hospital, Jaipur- India, “Young achiever Award” by Indian Medical Association- Jaipur branch, 2011, Devised a new method of liver parenchyma transection during hepatic resection using Debakey’s forceps (used for the first time in the world) and its ergonomic advantages and results of 100 such cases were published by HPB Surgery Journal in 2014, Invited by the World Congress on Digestive Diseases (WCDD) held at Nanjing, China in 2015 to present his experience of Laparoscopic Pancreatic Resections & Pancreatic resections with arterial & venous resection-reconstructions, Reported for the first time in the world literature, the evidence that shunt operation for portal hypertension can be performed in retro-aortic left renal vein along with some specific technical tips and pressure studies, which later was published by BMC Surgery Journal in 2017 and awarded with the Silver medal for second best paper at the Annual Conference of Association of Surgeons of India (ASI), Delhi Chapter, 1996, Delhi- India.
